This weekend has been filled with fun moments, sleeping late and good food. A nice change from working late and any type food that is prepared quickly during the week.
The weekend started off with some ‘babysitting’ in Ghent. My sister in law went bowling for the evening so me and my boyfriend looked after her three (!!!) children. At first I was a bit scared, I was afraid of some “I want my mummy”-moments. But we managed and really had fun with the kids, they are such sweeties!
On Saturday, we went to the fair with them and their parents. Afterwards me and my boyfriend did some strolling around in Ghent, where he bought some ‘Darth Vader’-ish leather gloves for himself and some furry white ones for me.
If anyone of you has got a trip planned to Ghent and is still looking for a place to stay, I would really recommend ‘Den Augustijn’. It’s the ‘Bed & Bike’ of my sister in law and her husand with a nice room in the city center of Ghent. Check it out!
Saturday evening, my boyfriend and I had the brilliant idea of catching a movie. Skyfall to be exact. Finally! And I must say, the movie theater was still pretty full. In stead of going for dinner, we stuffed ourselves with popcorn during the movie.
If you didn’t see it yet, I would definitely recommend checking it out. It’s everything you can expect from a James Bond movie: a lot of action and beautiful scenery. But this time without a lot of typical gadgets (which I always love).
To end this perfect weekend, we went for lunch with my parents. Saint Nicholas even paid for it – well isn’t he sweet? Because we were running late, I had to do my make-up in the car (which is always a bit tricky). Luckily we managed to get there only 5 minutes late and (me) without looking like a racoon.
We went to Nino’s, an Italian/French restaurant where I’ve been going since I was a little kid so going there always feels a little bit like coming home. I had some pumpkin torteloni as a main course and cheese for dessert. Hmm.
I also got to see my little sis again, who told me that she wants to start her own blog after the exams. Yay! Doesn’t she look über-stylish with her beaded collar? But for now I’ll keep my fingers crossed and wish her (and everyone else with exams) good luck. You can do it!
