Long time no post, but also long time no dance. At this moment my life has hit a rough patch, but let’s not focus on that shall we – there’s a better time and place for those things. What I do notice during this time in my life is that I really need to express myself, even more than before. And for me dance really is the best way to do this. I have always danced but gave up teaching (and dancing too) about half a year ago, because I just wasn’t enjoying it anymore. But now, my body screams for movement and I really feel I HAVE to dance.
My head is already bursting with ideas of how I can incorporate this newfound passion into the blog – so you will see some of them popping up on the blog soon enough.
But now I want to show you the beautiful synergy between dance and fashion. Sarah Jessica Parker, who sits on the N.Y.C. Ballet board, recruited Prabal Gurung, the lovely Iris Van Herpen and our very own Olivier Theyskens to design costumes for specific productions. The result? The beautiful costumes you can glance at in these 3 short movies. I browsed the web but sadly enough couldn’t find any footage of the beautiful clothing in action – damn why don’t I live in New York, then I would have been able to see it live on stage! (if any of you come across some footage, please let me know). You can take a look at all designs on refinery29.com.
