A few weeks ago I went on a much needed trip. The destination? Geneva! Why Geneva? Because my boyfriend really wanted to visit the LHC (large hadron collider) at the CERN (European Organization of Nuclear Research) – and secretly I wanted too. Unfortunately we didn’t get to visit it during our trip (so we’ll be back in the future). And this made me think about what makes a trip successful to me and I came up with these 5 golden rules:
Bring the right company
The person/people you bring on your trip really can make or break the whole thing. Luckily I had my boyfriend with me, success garantueed!
Start the day off with a good breakfast
I am a food lover, so I take breakfast very seriously. Whether it is at your hotel(room) or out on the town, you should always take your time to sit down and start the day off right. As a real coffee addict, my boyfriend likes to do this with a good cup of coffee. And thanks to Stephanie‘s tip, we had ourselves some very good brews from the super sweet guys at Birdie Coffee (tips on how to do it at home included).
Holiday = waterfront to me. Whether it’s the sea, a lake or a river, I always appreciate having water around on a holiday. Add to that some sunshine and I’m the happiest kid on the block.
On the one rainy day during our trip we visited the MAMCO, where next to the permanent expositions they also had an amazing light & sound festival at the time we were there.
And a beautiful old town to walk through
And there you have it, my five ingredients for the best trip ever!
